AA Waste | Computer / IT Equipment Disposal and Recycling Flintshire

AA Waste is based in Woking, Surrey, Chard, Somerset and Southampton, Hampshire. From these bases we provide a UK national disposal and recycling service for IT equipment every year for companies and authorities across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

AA Waste prefer to use recycling routes over landfill. The majority of IT equipment is recyclable. Therefore, along with our business partners, we use recycling routes to deal with it. Our UK national service covers the disposal and recycling of CRT monitors, TFT monitors, computers, VDUs, printers, TVs and DVD players. Our disposal and recycling service complies with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directives legislation. Computer monitors, base units, servers and many other items of IT equipment are now classed as hazardous waste under the WEEE Directives of 2005.

AA Waste assess redundant IT equipment, CRT and TFT displays for the most suitable recycling route in accordance with WEEE Directives. The majority of equipment currently collected is consigned for physical destruction with recovery of the various material components. The equipment is stripped down and any data is destroyed, any hazardous elements are removed ie. gas discharge lamps and lithium cells on the motherboards. The remaining material is then separated, shredded and processed. Ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals are recovered from the equipment and sent for recycling. The recycling actions taken with this type of equipment makes our recycling service successful from both environmental and cost perspectives. A certificate of destruction is issued on request.
