AA Waste is based in Woking, Surrey, Swindon, Wiltshire and Southampton, Hampshire. From these bases we provide a UK national service for analysing unknown Hazardous Waste and Chemicals ready for listing, pricing, collection, disposal and or recycling across England, Scotland and Wales.
Unknown Wastes. How to deal with them.
To ensure that we follow the law, and that a good recycling or disposal route is chosen, AA Waste needs to identify any unknown or unidentified hazardous or chemical waste to be collected carefully.
It is quite often the case that materials are found with no labels, or other identification. We have seen this in everything from small jars in a laboratory store, larger vessels such as 205 litre drums through to IBC's. Unfortunately, Unknown items are not allowed to be transported until they are Identified.
There are several ways to tackle this. It is sometimes possible to send a photograph to help sort out what the items are. Sometimes a discussion over the phone about the site history can be enough. In other cases one of our fully licensed chemists can visit your site and analyse the waste concerned. It is usually possible to categorise the waste during a visit. AA Waste will always comply with current legislation. It is this that determines how we categorise hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
A site visit is always a cheaper option than taking samples and sending them away for analysis. However there are times when this is the only option left.
AA Waste is always working hard to help solve your waste problems. We will find a way to remove your waste at a realistic and reasonable cost.
